Eric Clapton called Richard "the true light of The Band." Richard's light shines on...
Created in 2014 to honour the memory of the Stratford, Ontario born vocalist and keyboardist with the legendary Canadian musical group The Band, the award goes annually to a performance music student at the Don Wright Faculty of Music at Western University in London, Ontario. We are honoured to work with music fans, musicians, businesses and the Manuel family to support the award and an annual concert takes place each year for its benefit. Those wishing to make a donation to the scholarship may do so directly at the university's website at www.westernconnect.ca/manuel

In 2019, Sting graciously signed GW Grainger's Martin Guitar and the proceeds of that guitar helped fund the Richard G. Manuel music award through the global pandemic. We are grateful to Sting and maybe one day he'll be a guest artist at one of our shows!
